The percentage of the adult population at a Level 1 Literacy rate is:
Bowie County - 24% Cass County - 25% Lafayette County - 37% Little River County - 23% Miller County - 26%
That on the average - 40% of the adults in these counties, 25 years of age or older, have not completed high school.
More than 20% of adults nation-wide read at or below a 5th grade level - far below the level needed to earn a living wage.

Training
Please help us by becoming a trained tutor and working with one of the many adults in our community who need your help. All trainings are free, books and meals are provided. You must attend both sessions to become certified.
